Completed in 1998, this dam on the Katsura River within the Yodo River system is the largest in the Kansai region. It features a unique "Info Gallery" where visitors can tour the interior of the dam embankment—a rare opportunity nationwide. The "Visitor Center" offers educational exhibits on the power and importance of water, as well as the functions of the dam. Adjacent to the dam is "Springs Hiyoshi," featuring a cherry blossom viewing plaza lined with trees, a pool, hot springs, and a restaurant.
