Miyama
Shimenawa Making Experience
The Miyama Shimenawa Group crafts and dedicates the large sacred ropes for the main shrines, including the main hall of Fushimi Inari Taisha. While some ropes measure 12 meters long and 15 centimeters thick, the fundamental technique remains the same regardless of size, rooted in ancient rope-making skills.
Using the same straw (pesticide-free, sun-dried) as our offerings to Fushimi Inari Taisha, let's try the "rope-making" experience. Smoothly, smoothly, smoothly... from your palms, each person creates a rope with its own unique character.
Finally, it will be crafted into a decorative shimenawa rope for your home or other space. This experience is available for everyone, from children to adults.
